3/8" John Guest to 3/8" BSPT Male Adapter
This adapter pairs a 3/8" John Guest push-fit end with a 3/8" BSPT (British Standard Pipe Tapered) male thread — not to be confused with American NPT, which uses a different thread angle and pitch and will not seal properly in a BSP port.
COMPATIBILITY
- Fits: European-style BSP female water fittings, common on stainless supply hoses shipped with new European espresso machines
- Works with: 3/8" OD John Guest push-fit tubing
INSTALLATION
Straightforward DIY swap — thread the BSPT end into the machine's water inlet, then push the tubing into the John Guest collet.
PRO TIPS
- Don't force an NPT fitting into a BSP port thinking they're interchangeable — the thread angles differ (55° BSP vs 60° NPT), and forcing it will gall the threads and cause a slow leak that's hard to diagnose later. If you're unsure which thread your machine has, a BSP fitting will thread in smoothly by hand for several turns before needing a wrench, while NPT binds up early.
