73mm Group Head Portafilter Gasket Shim
A refractory-material shim that goes underneath the rubber group gasket to increase its profile height, for cases where portafilter wear has caused the portafilter to engage past the six o'clock position. Install the shim first, then seat the rubber gasket against it — running the portafilter (no basket) a few times helps seat the rubber gasket properly afterward.
SPECIFICATIONS
- 73 x 59 x 0.8 mm
- Refractory material
- Same as OEM Faema F.731 and Rancilio R.241
COMPATIBILITY
- Fits: an unusually wide range of E61 and classic Italian group heads — including Bezzera, BFC, Brasilia, Casadio, Expobar, Faema, Fiorenzato, Futurmat-Ariete, Gaggia, Gaggia Spagna, Grimac, Italcrem, Mairiali, La Marzocco, Orchestrale, Pavoni, Promac, Rancilio, Reneka, Royal, Sab Italia, Scala, VFA Expres, Vibiemme, Visacrem, and Wega, across dozens of individual models — because sizing is standardized around the E61 gasket footprint rather than being brand-specific, this shim covers nearly all of them
- Replaces: also cataloged as Ascaso F.731/R.241, Expobar 75000090, Faema 400238010, Fiorenzato A1200033, Iberital 3360, Nuova Ricambi 518608, Pavoni 362031, Promac/Rancilio 36221001, Ricambi Gardosi F054/G055, and Wega 10405/12008001
INSTALLATION
Simple DIY job done alongside a group gasket replacement — shim goes in first, gasket seats on top of it.
PRO TIPS
- Don't add this shim just because a portafilter feels loose — it's specifically for correcting portafilters that over-rotate past six o'clock from group/portafilter wear. Adding it to a properly seating group can actually cause the portafilter to bind before it locks.
- After installing, run the portafilter (with no basket) a few times to help the rubber gasket above it seat evenly before brewing.
