CMA Steam Wand Rebuild Kit – Fixes Leaks & Floppy Wands
Repairs leaks where the steam wand meets the valve, or where the wand swivels in the fixing nut, and cures the "floppy" wand feel that develops over time. Includes (top to bottom, as pictured): 1x GUAR21682, 1x W_173, 1x W_604, and 1x F_467.
COMPATIBILITY
- Fits: Astoria, Bravo, Formula, Rio, and Wega steam wand/valve assemblies
INSTALLATION
DIY-moderate - remove and replace the existing parts; orientation matters (see pro tips), but no special tools are required.
PRO TIPS
- Orientation is everything on this rebuild: the curved portion of the spring seat (W_604) sits against the wand, and the spring rests on the seat's raised portion. The o-ring is the hardest part to seat correctly - it must sit BELOW the ball at the bottom of the nut, never on top of it, or the wand won't hold pressure.
- A "floppy" wand with no visible leak points to a worn spring/seat that's lost tension, not a bad o-ring - replace the whole kit as a set rather than guessing at a single component, since reusing an old worn ball with a fresh o-ring just brings the leak back in a few weeks.
