Mahlkönig EK43 Aluminum Shear Plate
A sacrificial shear plate engineered to break before your motor does if the burrs ever seize — cheap insurance against a much more expensive repair.

COMPATIBILITY
- Fits: Mahlkönig EK43S, and any 2nd-generation EK43 with round, stainless on/off buttons and the black aluminum prebreaker
- Replaces: Mahlkönig #703800
INSTALLATION
Requires opening the grinder's prebreaker housing — a straightforward job for an experienced technician.
PRO TIPS
- If your EK43 suddenly stalls or trips its motor overload with a loud clunk, check this shear plate before assuming a motor failure — it's designed to fail first, and a broken plate is a much cheaper fix than a burned-out motor.
- Confirm your prebreaker is the black aluminum version before ordering — earlier and later EK43 generations use different prebreaker materials and this plate won't fit them.
