La Marzocco Giggler / Flow Restrictor - 0.8mm

A 0.8 mm brass flow restrictor (gicleur) rated for 400 ml per 30 seconds, part #A.5.100 — this small in-line jet tunes brew group flow rate on La Marzocco machines, distinct from pressure or temperature settings.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • 0.8 mm orifice
  • Flow rate: 400 ml / 30 sec

COMPATIBILITY

  • Fits: La Marzocco Linea Classic (EE version, and AV version after January 2009), and GB/5 models per serial range — check your model's flow restrictor size before ordering, since Linea Classic MP, Strada MP/EE, and most GB/5 units use a 0.6mm restrictor instead (part F.2.003 or F.3.032 depending on serial range), and Strada EP uses no restrictor at all
  • Replaces: La Marzocco part #A.5.100 (also listed as L087/GI8 for certain Linea Classic variants)

INSTALLATION

A quick DIY task for anyone comfortable opening the group's flow-control fitting — a technician job if you're not familiar with your group's plumbing layout.

PRO TIPS

  • Giggler size is model- and serial-specific on La Marzocco machines — the 0.6mm and 0.8mm restrictors look identical from the outside, so confirm your exact model and serial range against La Marzocco's chart rather than assuming by machine name alone.
  • A giggler that's scaled shut or partially clogged shows up as one group brewing noticeably slower than the others on a multi-group machine — before assuming it's a bad restrictor, pull and inspect it; scale buildup is far more common than a manufacturing defect.
