La Pavoni Steam Valve Piston — Chrome
This chrome-finished piston is the metal-on-metal seal that closes the steam valve body against its boiler seat — there's no gasket at that end, so the piston's fit and finish do the sealing. A separate shaft gasket handles sealing at the knob end of the same valve. Also available in a brass finish.

INSTALLATION
A moderate DIY task — the piston must seat cleanly for a proper metal-on-metal seal, so light polishing of the seat may be needed on older valves.
PRO TIPS
- Since this is a metal-to-metal seal with no gasket, make sure the seat is free of pitting or mineral deposits before installing a new piston, or it won't seal even when new.
