Depending on use and other factors, these gaskets should be replaced every 4-6 months
This is very common. DO NOT FORCE IT: the screw could break off! Most of the time the best option is to ruin the screen. Bending the screen down around the screw will grap onto the screw head, then hopefully you can rotate the screen and the screw both at the same time to remove the screw.
